Hopkins and Hoping

So, we took the plunge. After MUCH discussion with our Early Intervention team and audiologists, some prayer, and LOTS of anxiety, we made the call and got an appointment in a couple of weeks for a consult at The Listening Center at Johns Hopkins. Hopkins is one of the best Cochlear Implant hospitals in the country. Our consult is just the beginning of this next turn in our journey, and who knows where it will take us. We're not even sure if Christian would be considered a candidate.

Once again, we're waiting and trying to be patient.

Good luck with the consult! The first step is so hard to take. I hope you don't have to wait too long to get your questions answered.

In our case, we found the results of the evaluation made our decision easier because they were so definitive.

I hope the same holds true for Christian's eval. Nothing is harder than the borderline results.

You are doing such an amazing job with Christian. He is a lucky boy to have such a strong advocate.

Good luck guys! After having my first child implanted, I was relieved when my second child finally crossed into range to be implantable! That's how much we loved it.

One of my good friends had his implant at Johns Hopkins with Dr. Niparko. He just couldn't say enough good things about him. If Christian IS a candidate, JH is the place to be...you're in great hands!

The waiting is the WORST part. Hope it goes by quickly!

I'm so glad to hear so many folks had good experiences with Hopkins. Waiting IS the worst part---luckily time seems to be going by pretty fast!
