A Change of Scenery

My neighbors let us use their beach house in Dewey Beach this past weekend, and it was so great getting out of town and heading to our favorite beach town. While the weather wasn't that great, I still think a rainy day at the beach is better than a sunny day at home :)

While there, we had some time to really just decompress as a family. We have been going nonstop since Lily was born, and have had so much on our minds. Money, family things, travel plans, and of course our constant worrying/obsessing over Christian's education/amplification/implant/therapy have taken up most of our time and energy. For one weekend, we just disconnected, focused on our little family of four, and enjoyed eachother. Christian needed the break. So much of his little life is taken up by school, appointments, therapy, and a Mom who pushes him harder than most Moms push their teenagers.

Christian and Chuck played on the beach every day, even in the drizzles. I loved walking on the board walk with my sweet little girl, and we had fun dinners (with cocktails of course) in the evenings. While I'm looking forward to heading back this summer for a more "adult" vacation (Red shots, anyone?), it was great having some time with the wee ones and my hubby.

Everyone needs to get away once in a while- even little ones! The beach trip looks like a lot of fun, even if it did rain. I love your front-pack for the baby! Very cool.
