Where Did Summer Go?

Hot summer days in the playroom with each other.
I know I've spent pretty much everyday since July 1st wishing that summer would get over already. I rushed it out of our lives, and here I am on Labor Day weekend wishing that I had JUST ONE MORE WEEK. I'm ready for fall--I love the weather, the fashion (BROWN BOOTS, JEANS and a Dark Lip!), the food, and the family fun. I'm just not ready to say good-bye to my little man.

This year he'll be attending school full-day, and pick-up isn't until 3pm. While I'm excited to have so much more time during the day, I'm already missing my lunch-hour with both of my babies. I won't have a lazy afternoon with two nappers, as he'll be doing a "rest and read" at school. I know I will miss having my silly guy here, and I am sure that Lily Grace will miss him even more. This past summer their friendship has truly blossomed. They play together all day long, and in all honesty, Christian is an absolutely amazing big brother. He looks out for his sister, shares with her, loves her up, and teachers her all things Spiderman. She adores him. To ease the transition of not having big brother around, I've signed Lily up for a little program at a local nursery school one day a week. She'll also have her weekly morning playgroup and in an effort to utilize all this extra time I'll have, we are sharing a sitter with one of my dearest friends 2 mornings a week so I can get some work done. She'll be with Christian's best neighborhood buddy, and I know they'll have fun.

So, here we are. It's a beautiful Labor Day weekend and we are just enjoying the last few drops of summer before the rush of fall takes over.

I can't believe Lily is ready for nursery school- and that Christian is in full-day school already! I'm sad to see summer go, too, but I am looking forward to pumpkins and visits to the cider mill.

Here's to a very happy fall!

I'm so glad Christian is going back to River, and FULL TIME! WOW! and let me say, I can't believe how big Lily looks in this picture - where has the time gone??!! Wasn't it just yesterday that she was smiling at me from her buggy as I fed her puffs?

I'm looking forward to our first fall in the Midwest, but missing the beauty of Maryland, and you all! Hugs!
