All Clear for a Bath! WAHOO!

We headed back up to Hopkins today for Christian's post-op appointment with our surgeon. While we were in the waiting room, I met a Deaf Mom with a deaf son who was just implanted. I was really excited to use my mediocre sign language with her, and I have to give myself a pat on the back, because I definitely held my own. Her mother was with her, and she was hearing so she interpreted when I needed a bit more clarification. It ends up she lives in Frederick, and our boys are very close in age. During all of this, Christian decided to wander all over The Listening Center and I was "That Mom" who didn't notice until "That Dad" asked "Where's the Boy". Yeah, luckily he didn't go far. I found him once I heard him yell "UH OH". Ends up he knocked over a pamphlet holder on the other side of the large waiting room behind a partition.

The doc said that all is healing just fine, and that he is doing great. He also gave us the thumbs up for a bath, so we definitely dunked the monkey this evening. This kid enjoys his bath SO much, and it was good for him (and us...he had some crusties we needed to take care of). So, we are just waiting for activation day!

"Uh-oh!" How adorable!

I am impressed with your ability to communicate with the other mom. (and a little jealous ;)

Counting the days until activation...

I have no idea how you have managed to successfully sponge bathe a toddler- thank goodness they gave the OK for a nice dunk in the tub!

At least now you can get back to your daily routine. Hey, we're finally in "activation month.." now its just the wait for the actual day!
