A Mommy Break...

My birthday week is being topped off by a trip out to LA to see one of my college roomies marry the love of her life. My other roomie, Ali, and I are going on our own for a mini-girls trip. We're leaving our husbands (and I'm leaving Christian) at home to fend for themselves while we both have such much needed girl time. While it's a quick trip, we've been looking forward to it for months! After the concert last night (which was AMAZING), I only have had about 4 hours of sleep, but still am so excited to head out on this trip!

With everything going on in our family's life, preparing for another baby and the constant go-go-go with Christian, I need this break. While I love staying at home teaching my little guy, sometimes I need some alone time. It's a constant drain to always be "on", as all Moms know. My role as his teacher and SLP, while it comes more naturally now, is very draining too. Sometimes, I just want to take off the "Mommy Hat", even if it's just for a quick weekend. I know when I come back after this whirlwind weekend that I'll be recharged and refreshed.

Here's a pic from last night...imagine 15K screaming 30 year old women...it was AMAZING!

Hey! Not all of us are 30!

Have a great time on your trip and have sweet sweet dreams on the plane remembering the blast we had last night!
