Bragging...AGAIN.

We had lunch this afternoon at Sanitary Fish Market in Morehead City. While we were waiting to pay the bill, Christian saw the stand of yummy candy on the way out and began to just chat it up with the ladies there.

"Wow, look at that! That's a lot of candy! I've been a good boy, Mommy!"

The sweet ladies looked down and complimented me on how well he speaks for a little guy. They asked me how old he was, and when I told them he was just 2.5 they were shocked. So, of course I wanted to shock them again. I turned Christian around, showed them his CI and his aid, gave the quick 15 second "My son is Deaf but speaks and hears thanks to this miracle of a technology" talk.

As they oohed and ahhed, I smiled, and thanked God silently. I'm such a proud and lucky CI Momma.

Tina, I love that story! I especially like the part where Christian was coyly petitioning for some candy by telling you he'd been a good boy! LOL

He is a little smarty, that's for sure...

It's always great when your kid is doing better than most kids his age- and then get to shock people by letting them know that he hears with CI's! We were recently at our neighbor's house (they haven't heard Nolan talk much before) and Nolan came up and said, "want go swimming." They were shocked (in a good way) because their typically hearing nephew can't talk at all, and is Nolan's age. It does make a mother's heart proud!

So as a kid we went to Sanitary as part of our overnight at camp. I love that place. I tell Caroline every day that she can have "double fries" or "double slaw"...but you can't have double fries and double slaw!

Did you pick-up a t-shirt?

Our kids are totally amazing---what they've faced this short time on God's Great Earth is unbelievable. I love how they are proving everyone wrong :)

Steve, I did get Chuck a T-Shirt :) We love that place. Everytime we come to AB we head there.
