Summer Troubleshooting

Schools out, and camps are in. Christian's heading to 3 weeks of camp once we get back from the beach. He's going to have a blast, and I am so happy that he'll have some fun time with his neighborhood friends! However, camps also mean new teachers, who aren't necessarily experts on hearing aids and Cochlear Implants. I'm planning on heading up and doing a tutorial before it begins, but I always leave a little list with the teachers as well.

I found a great deal for FREE contact cards at Kodak Gallery and made a set that are perfect for the summer. The front just has a picture of Christian and his name, and on the back I outlined some quick and dirty CI and HA instructions and put my phone number on for reference.

What a great idea! I will recommend that tip to other parents on HearingFamilies.com.
My son is so old now (14) that he told me that he wants to make a power point presentation to explain hearing loss to his new classmates in his new high school! He's putting me out of business!

Hey Tina- Can you give me some ideas of what you put on your card? I want to make one for all the staff at Peas' new preschool. Love the idea. Thanks. :)

Hi Melanie! You have a limited amount of space on these business cards so my text reads as follows:

I use a CI and Hearing Aid to Listen and Speak
My CI and Hearing Aid can't get wet. My CI is on my right ear. Press the bottom bottom until you see one green flash to turn my CI on. It will flash orange until the magnet is on my head. My hearing aid turns on when the battery door is closed. Call my Mom at XXXXXXX with questions
