Dramatic Play

I don't think much about language opportunities these days, since they seem to just NATURALLY happen here. Both Christian and Lily are REALLY into dramatic play--dressing up as Transformers, Super Heroes, Princesses, Knights, Firemen, Policemen...you name it they do it. I love listening to them play together. Christian takes on the role of "organizer", and Lily listens intently. I love these brother sister moments.

Brotherly Love

"Oh Lily, I love you!" (Lily snuggles Christian on the floor)

"Here Beaners (his nickname for our Lily Grace), you can play with my trucks"

"Lily! Stop! (as she is heading towards an OPEN gate down to our foyer) I will rescue you! I'm COMING!

And my favorite...

"JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU CAN HAVE CHOCOLATE, BEANERS. YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT!"

I can't get over just how well they get along. Seeing the two of them grow to love each other so much warms my heart. Christian is genuinely a sweet boy with his sister, and I can honestly say that he really does TAKE CARE of her. I hope they always love each other this much!

Brother and Sister Love

Lily is now 7 months, sitting up and actually playing with toys. I am having so much fun watching and LISTENING to them play together. Christian really is such a sweet big brother, always watching out for his baby sister. This afternoon while we were all in the playroom, Christian sat right next to Lily and said "Lily, what truck would you like today? How about this Pink one, baby sister?". Lily, who is ALWAYS all smiles, just giggles and flops her little arms up and down in excitement. Even though I often complain of the stressors of trying to be both a SAHM and a Working Mom at the same time, moments like this make me so thankful that I have the opportunity to be with my babies all day long.
