Trick or Treat! Halloween Safety Tips!

Thanks to Cochlear for providing these reminders! I especially like the reminder of turning on the indicator light to not only ensure that Christian is hearing, but also in case we need to find it in the dark (fingers crossed we don't lose it!)

Halloween Safety Tips
  • Carry a flashlight and a mobile phone with you.
  • Decorate costumes and candy bags with reflective tape for trick-or-treating.
  • Instruct your kids not to eat any candy until they come home and have it examined by parents.
  • Ensure costumes fit comfortably and securely around the Nucleus Cochlear Implant.
  • Consider turning on the indicator light located on your children's sound processor so you can ensure they are hearing while trick-or-treating.
  • Inform children to walk from house to house and stay at your child’s side (or holding hands) when trick-or-treating, especially when crossing the street.
  • For older children/teens going out with friends, make sure you know where they are going and have "check-ins".
